Welcome to HBC

Our Ministerial testimony is rooted in the faithful life and ministry of my father, Apostle Evangelist S. S. Thangiah, a beloved servant of God from Ittamozhi, Nanguneri Taluk. At just 13 years old, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour and began to love Him more and more each day. In his early youth, he responded wholeheartedly to the call of the Holy Spirit of God and surrendered his life for full-time ministry. Obeying God's direction, he journeyed to Sri Lanka, where he began the mission God had placed on his life.

For over 60 years, God used him mightily in a foreign land. His unwavering love for the Church and his deep compassion for souls led many families to Christ and inspired countless others. Empowered by the Holy Spirit of God, my father mentored a large number of disciples. Many of them committed their lives to full-time ministry and continue to serve the Lord to this day. His legacy remains a living testimony to the power of obedience and faith.

Encouraged by this divine foundation, with God's help I too have surrendered my life to God’s calling. By the grace of the Holy Spirit of God, in 1999, I was able to help many believers enrol in certified Bible study programs. A few years later, God led us to establish Discipleship Training Courses in the UK, India, and Sri Lanka, where numerous families have been touched by God’s love through these ministries.

In a significant milestone, God enabled Harvest Ministries to receive recognition from the Dayspring Bible College (USA). With their gracious support, Harvest Bible College was affiliated and empowered to offer online Bible courses to believers around the world.

We give all glory to God for the generations of ministry He has established and for continuing to use us in His service.

Doctrinal Statement

The Scriptures are the infallible and authoritative Word of God, free from error, given to guide humanity toward salvation.

God the Father is the Creator of heaven and earth and the Sustainer of all things. There is only one God— infinite, eternal, and perfect in holiness, truth, and love.

The Triune God consists of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—coexistent, coeternal, and coequal.

God the Son, Jesus Christ, was supernaturally conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He was without sin and became the vicarious sacrifice for the sins of all humanity through His death on the cross. He rose from the dead in His glorified body, appeared to many, ascended into heaven, and will return to earth in power and glory. He is now the Head of His Body, the Church.

God the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He unites individuals to Jesus Christ through faith, brings about the new birth, and dwells within the believer—enabling spiritual growth in sanctification and righteousness. He also equips the believer to become a gift of God to the Church.

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit, along with the gifts of the Spirit—such as the word of knowledge, wisdom, faith, healing, the working of miracles, prophecy, discernment of spirits, tongues, and the interpretation of tongues—are available through the Holy Spirit and remain active in the Church today.

Man was created in the image and likeness of God. Through the original sin of Adam and Eve, humanity fell from fellowship with God and became sinful in nature. As a result, man is totally incapable of returning to God on his own and is lost without hope—apart from the salvation that comes through Jesus Christ.

Salvation is the gift of God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which mankind can be saved. By turning from sin in repentance and placing faith in Christ and His atoning death, a person is born again by the Holy Spirit into eternal life.

The Church is the Body and Bride of Christ, entrusted with the mission of proclaiming the Gospel to all people and nations, and making disciples of them.

The consummation of all things includes the visible, personal return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, and the translation of those alive in Christ into the presence of God for eternity.
